Awards Gained:

Osei Tutu II College, formerly Tetrem Secondary School, had its humble beginnings in 1973 when through the generosity of an indigene, the school had its first structures resulting from a donation made for the creation of a private agric institution solely for the purpose of training the young unemployed in the locality in effective agricultural practices for self-employment and their personal livelihoods.

As the only post-JSS institution around the locality, the government of the time then saw it fit to absolve it into the mainstream educational system via the Ghana Education Service.

The school has had its ups and downs; however it lowest ebb came at a time when between 1996 and 2000, the school saw its total student population dwindle to as low as 67 students. However, from the year 2000 onwards, the school through the efforts of its past and present headmasters, has seen its total student population rise again to over a 1000 students. And from all indications, had it not been for the school’s over-stretched facilities, the total student population would have been much greater than this.

The year 2006 saw the adoption of the new name Osei Tutu II College, named after the reigning Asantehene, Osei Tutu Ababio.

It is hoped that with the total movement of structures, facilities and students to the new site in the foreseeable future, the sky will be the limit.

Long live Osei Tutu II College, Long live Great OSEC.

New pupils are admitted in September every year through a computerized system under the control of the Ghana Education Service. The system works based on the results of an entry examination known as the Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E). This examination is held for junior high schools at various centres throughout the country. Entry Forms for the above examination are obtained from the West African Examination Council (W.A.E.C) through the headteachers of the respective junior high schools within the country. Once the computerised selection process is completed, the list of admitted students are made available by the Ghana Education Service to the school. The list is then made public through the school’s notice board.

An opportunity is given to foreign nationals wish to apply for admission into the school through a written entrance examination organised by the school.

After a student gains admission, he is given the school's official prospectus. This book helps new students about the school and all that is required of them.
