College of Business Studies is one of the recognized Vocational/Technical by the National Vocational Training Institute of Ghana. The institution is located in the ASHANTI Region at Kumasi.

College of Business Studies (CBS) founded in 1990, is a career institution in Kumasi, Ghana. It produces Administrative Assistants, Secretaries and Accounts Clerks to support the business community in Ghana.

History

n 1992 the director of CBS, James Ofosu-Adarkwah, decided to set up the College of Business Studies with the objective of providing secretarial and computer training to educate Junior and High school graduates and make them competitive on the job market in Ghana.

College of Business Studies (CBS) began with 50 students in rented premises at Kwadaso, Kumasi. In 1993, CBS was registered by the Ghana education Service as a tertiary institution.

In 1994, CBS was inspected by the Planning, Research and Development Department of the National Vocational Institute (NVTI). CBS met the requirements for recognition and registration by the Institute. In 1997, CBS added Senior Typist and Stenographer courses that provided higher training in Secretarial studies to our students.

In 1998, CBS acquired a permanent site at Apatrapa, Kumasi and began to develop permanent buildings to house the college. In 2007, CBS moved from Kwadaso to Apatrapa New Site.
