Technology Secondary School, now KNUST Senior High School was founded in February 1961 by the late Dr. R. P. Baffour, the first Vice-Chancellor of the University of Science and Technology, to provide Secondary/Technical Education for students who would eventually enter the University. Since the School was directly under the control of University, the Vice-Chancellor appointed an Advisory Committee to manage its affairs, but its day-to-day running was in the hands of wives of some Senior Lecturers of the University.
