The National Service Scheme (NSS) has cautioned the public against misleading information currently being circulated on social media platforms on reposting.

It urged prospective personnel to treat the information with contempt and ignore the false information being circulated. "The management of the NSS has taken notice of false information circulating on social media under the title, "New Update".

"In the pronounced false publication, the author, who gives his name and contact as Mr Victor NSS - 0548313412 respectively, is peddling absolute falsehood regarding the scheme's deployment modules under teaching, agriculture and accounting aid and thus, luring unsuspected NSS personnel to contact him and pay some amount of money for change of postings," it said.

A statement signed and issued by the Executive Director of NSS, Osei Assibey Antwi said, management wished to clearly state that there were no such arrangements for change of postings of service personnel posted under those modules. It said the scheme did not know any such person as Mr Victor NSS and as such "No such individual has been contracted to deal with the public for and on behalf of the scheme".

In the meantime, the statement said management was referring the matter to the security agencies to fish out the faceless person to save innocent service personnel  from being duped.

"Management wishes to advise all national service personnel and public to directly contact any of the scheme's regional or district secretariats, or the headquarters to have their grievances addressed," it emphasised.
