Presec Legon wins #NSMQ for the eighth time.

The Presbyterian Boys Senior High School, Legon, for the eighth time has won the National Science and Maths Quiz. As 2022 champions, Presec Legon won back to back in 2023.

They ended the final round with 40 points against Achimota School with 28 points and Opoku Ware School's 23 points. The Presecans took the step to secure the bragging rights as the most successful school in the contest right from the first round with 18 points. Opoku Ware School ended the first round with 9 points and Achimota with 11 points.

Presec held on till the last round, but in the 4th round, Achimota School tried closing the gap, but that round ended with Presec at 31 points as against Achimota at 28 points and Opoku Ware at 20 points.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, at the begining of the contest commended the organisers, primetime, for initiating the National Science and Maths Quiz for SHS students.

He said the programme has enhanced the interest in the study of Science and its related programmes among students.

Dr. Adutwum also commended all the contestants from the three schools, saying, " no matter what happens, contestants, you have done well for your schools.
