Shama Senior High School is located at Yabiw Junction, about 3 km from Shama Junction. It is a co-educational institution founded in January, 1991 as part of the educational reforms of 1987. It started on the premises of Shama Secondary Technical Fisheries School, a private second cycle institution founded by the late Mr. Edward K. Dontoh in the early 1970’s. In 1990, the family of the late Mr. Dontoh released his structure to the community for the commencement of Shama Secondary School. The Government provided additional structures for the smooth running of the school.
